Before the wedding takes place
Should we have a pre-wedding meeting?
The most important aspect of wedding photography is the chemistry between the couple and the photographer! That’s why I always set up a meeting so we can get a feel for each other and see if we’re on the same frequency.
How much does it cost to have photos taken at a wedding?
No two weddings are the same – that’s why I’ve created some packages to help you get an estimate on having me as your wedding photographer. You can find them under ‘Prices‘. But please contact me for a quote for your wedding day.
How do we make the payment?
The payment is split in two. The first payment is 50% of the price. The date is not booked until I receive the first payment within five days of signing the contract.
However, I will let you know when I receive other inquiries on that date.
The remaining 50% must be received no later than seven days before the wedding.
Can you change your style when it comes to the images?
For me, it’s important that the photographic style is something you can see yourself in and find appealing – as it’s not something I can compromise on.
These are photos you’ll keep coming back to, so you want them to match your tastes. Feel free to look through the images under ‘Portfolio’. So you can get a better sense of my style and workflow.
I would describe my style as documentary. I always try to capture authentic, real and honest moments that tell something about you, your guests and the day!
During the day
Are you the one coming to our wedding?
Yes, it’s me, Claus Andersen, who is your photographer for the day.
Depending on the situation, I can bring an assistant/2nd shooter. But usually it’s me as a one-man army that shows up – but if you want more photographers/videographers or the like, please let me know.
Do you take preparation photos?
Yes, I’d love to, I’m a big fan of them!
When you prepare, you can get some unique and personalized images. In my opinion, preparation is essential. It’s also crucial to give the whole story a common thread.
When is a good time to take portraits?
It depends on your plan for the day. The most important thing is that you have and make time for it, so you can enjoy a moment where it’s just the two of you. Wedding days are often packed to the brim with a tight schedule, so it can be nice to have a little breathing space.
For me, it’s about capturing the natural and personal between you.
I’ll be on hand on the day to provide tips on how to stay on schedule. I’ve learned a thing or two after 15-20 years as a wedding photographer.
Dress code
My attire depends on the weather. Since I’m at work, I want to be able to show up in shorts and a shirt on a hot summer day. Of course, it won’t be the striped swim shorts and Hawaiian shirt (but that can be arranged), but a nicer outfit. We talk about this when we meet before the wedding.
What equipment do you use?
I shoot with Sony’s A7RIV and A7IV, the former with a resolution of 61 megapixels, which delivers amazing quality. I shoot with a mix of prime and zoom lenses. All images are shot in RAW for the best quality and flexibility in post-processing.
Can you also shoot analog images?
As mentioned above, I shoot digitally with the Sony A7RIV and A7IV. But I can shoot analog images if you want.
There are several options; regular 35mm with Nikon F4 and F100, wide format with Hasselblad XPan and 6×6 (square) with Hasselblad’s 503cxi.
Film-wise, I prefer to shoot positive film; Kodak Ektachrome E100, Fujifilm Provia or Fujifilm Venus 800 negative film.
Time-wise, a little more time needs to be set aside. and it’s often a complement to the digital images. We’ll talk about the price of the analog ones if relevant.
After the wedding
Want to use the images on your website and social media?
Yes, I would love to! Wedding photos are all about the visuals!
At the same time, I also understand that people want to keep it private and not be part of my portfolio. Should you not consent or choose to withdraw your consent, there will be an additional cost of DKK 2,500.
How many images do we get and in what quality?
You will usually receive the photos 3 weeks after the wedding day. My experience says around 40-50 photos per hour. So depending on how long you have booked me for, it will reflect the number of images I deliver.
You will receive a link to an online gallery in your email once all the photographs have been processed. I do this by selecting the best images, editing them and delivering them digitally to you. The gallery you get is password-protected, so only those with the code can log in (you and the undersigned).
You’ll receive very high-resolution images so you can print any size you want, from 10×15 up to min. A0 (poster size ala. 70x100cm)
Can we buy prints and albums from you?
Yes, you can do that directly in the gallery!
Here you can order prints, design albums and much more. I have selected a few companies that I get my own photos printed from – so it’s in damn good quality!
